Adopt-a-Book Q & A
What is Adopt-a-Book?
Adopt-a-Book is a way to support the library by “adopting” a book for the library collection.
How can I sponsor a book?
In Person – Visit the library during regular business hours, choose your books, and bring them to the Circulation Desk with your payment.
Online – Visit www.PLNL.org/aab25info to browse all books available for sponsorship. You can use the Sponsorship form to make a payment online.
Can I keep the book I adopted?
No. The book/s will be part of the library collection. However, once you adopt a book, you have the opportunity to be the first person to borrow it.
How can I pay for the book?
Payments can be made with cash, a check (payable to the Public Library of New London), or with your debit/credit card.
Can I add a bookplate to the book I adopt?
The book/s you choose to adopt can be marked with a commemorative bookplate with your name or the name of someone you wish to honor or memorialize.
What if I want to adopt the book in honor of someone?
When you adopt a book for someone special this holiday season, the library will present you with a beautiful card to give to the recipient, letting them know you have supported the Public Library of New London in their name.
How long will this fundraiser run?
Books will be available for adoption until December 31.
Where can I see a list of available titles?
Visit www.PLNL.org/aabmain2025 to view the list and to adopt the books online.
Are donations to the library tax-deductible?
The Public Library of New London is a 501(c)3 organization, and contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
